The Ministry of Health and Prevention declared a circular to recall Hamer Ginseng & Coffee Candy from the local markets. The announcement made after the realization of these items containing an undisclosed drug, NorTaldalafil which will have negative side effects on patients with diabetes and heart diseases.
Dr Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the UAE Ministry of Health’s Public Health Policy and License Sector made the statement about the recall and he is also the Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Pharmaceutical Vigilance.
According to Dr Rokaya Al Bastaki, Director of the Medicine Department at the Ministry, the circular has been issued after the analytical reports confirmed the product to contain NorTaldalafil and this drug causes acute hypotension. The consumers warned by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) against NorTaldalafil and the reducing the use of such sweets from the market is really good for health.
