The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship declared that from now on, the job seekers from certain countries coming to the UAE must need to pay a security deposit. The new rule also says that they need to pay a security deposit before they are issued visit and tourist visas.
The officials stated:
“All people staying illegally should avail of this amnesty initiative to rectify their status or leave the country within the grace period that has been given to avoid facing problems.”
The authority assuming that the tougher regulations will help to reduce the number of visit visa violators. The authority came to this decision after found out that most of the illegal residents looking to avail of the ongoing UAE visa amnesty scheme. The job visa rules issued by the UAE Cabinet in June 2018 is now changed according to the new decision by the cabinet.
According to the officials, the embassies might also be beholden to bear the costs of air tickets for their citizens who overstayed and this is because of that many illegal residents don’t have the money to buy flight tickets to go back to their home countries.
