The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, MoCCAE is organising activities on the occasion of Shark Week 2018 at the Atlantis Palm Hotel in Dubai. The programme includes to educate visitors and tourists about sharks and highlight their vital role in maintaining balance in the marine environment.
The programme starting from Sunday, 22nd until 28th July by the ministry in cooperation with the Atlantis Palm Hotel. Director of the Government Communication Department at MoCCAE, Taif Al Amiri stated the venture is in line with the country’s leading role in protecting the environment and preserving its balance.
The ministry is keen to implement strategic steps aimed at protecting the environment, raise awareness and strengthen cooperation. The implementation of the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership with stakeholders to protect sharks, contribute to the global ecological balance and maintain a sustainable marine environment.
For increasing the community awareness of the importance of promoting and conserving biodiversity in the marine environment and preserving biodiversity, UAE plays an important role. To provide the public with fun and amusing facts about these species, the programme includes competitions aimed at assessing the young generation’s knowledge about the importance of sharks in keeping the ecological balance.
